Do you prefer to reg domains with dashes or without dashes? Why?

Having to do without dashes often makes one's domain name rather hard to read especially when the domain name is a long terminology. But for short worded domains, dashes are not recommended.

But, the only the hyphenated version of the domain name I want is available! Well, think of another name. The reason, your website is going to get confused with the “other” website. Someone who found your website and remembered the name but not the address is going to type in the website name to try and find you again. Depending how well you have worked on your search engine optimization, the “other” website just might be in the results before you and you are going to loose the traffic and sale.

I have read an article about this on a certain website but I can't remember the name of that website. For me I would definitely pick a domain name without any symbol. People will have easier time to remember that kind of domain name.

there are few things which you have to consider....

easy to pronounce
the main keyword or business name in the domain
the more short domain name greater the value depending on the domain name..

always I would try to take .com

I would avoid using numbers, but I think dashes are ok. I wouldn't use dashes if I wanted to sell the domain name, though.
