RE: How capable is shared hosting?
I believe that it will be reasonable to choose a host who understands your specific needs, and who can sit down with you and talk about what your needs are, and how that host can accommodate for those needs.

RE: How capable is shared hosting?
maybe. But i dont think that someone will host him with 1000visitors. On a shared enviroment.
And if he does he will probably have no clients or does not care about the others using the same server |

RE: How capable is shared hosting?
Shared can easily handle that many an hour. At least we can. It's all about caching and not letting services get bloated down.

You are kidding 1000 Visitors Per Hour = 24000 Visitors a Day … In my opinion OP should opt cloud hosting platform so he will be able to scale his account up or down according to the requirement of resources.

RE: How capable is shared hosting?
It depends upon the content of your website. If its a blog or an e-commerce website then a VPS with 1 GB RAM will be good enough to handle the load, but if the site hosts videos or some streaming content then a Dedicated server will be the only solution.
