Next Google PageRank Update Supposedly Coming Soon
January Update?

The last PageRank update was November 8 of 2011, so everyone is wondering when the next update is going to be released. Google will never give an actual schedule pertaining to the next PageRank update and when it will be pushed through, but many experts make intelligent guesses based on data they collect. It was updated 4 times in 2011 and based on what everyone has speculated, the next PageRank update should be in late January to early February.

PageRank plays a role in the ranking of search engine results based on keyword searches, also known as SERP Ranks (Search Engine Rank Positions). A couple years ago PageRank was a huge factor, but it has since been demoted in importance. Google dropped the importance and overall effects of PageRank due to its over exploitation and Googles willingness to evolver for a more natural user experience and consistently accurate search results.
Don’t Be Confused

When PageRank updates it will take a while to spread through the internet and update all the websites, there are several hundred million websites after all. Google has multiple databases that they use to handle their massive traffic load, so when their update is released you can understand that it might take a while to reach everyone. The update will only effect one Google database at a time, so it can take a few hours for a noticeable change on your Pagerank. Don’t be worried if you don’t see a change in PageRank right away, you might not see anything until the next day, but typically its within a few hours from the launch time, at most.

As we are all very well aware, PageRank is based on backlinks and their quality. This means that the backlinks must have certain qualities in order to be helpful or even indexed. For a reminder, here are the basic qualities that make a strong backlink.

PageRank: The source of the backlink must have a decent PageRank itself or else it won’t be worth very much.
Alexa: Alexa Rank of the source also helps with the value of the backlink so try to make sure its within 150k or lower.
OBL: Outbound Links are individual backlinks that take a little bit of rank with them, so the less OBL on the source page the better.
Niche Relation: The backlink source must be in the same niche field
